  • ½ kg Ponni Rice (Half Cooked)
  • 2 onion chopped
  • 4 Green Chilies
  • 8 Tomatoes Chopped
  • ¼ cup Coriander Leaves
  • ¼ cup Mint Leaves
  • 2 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 4 Cardamom
  • ½ tsp. Fennel Seeds
  • 6 Clove
  • 1 tsp. Garlic chopped
  • Ginger Chopped
  • 1 tsp. Ghee/Butter
  • 2 tbsp. Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 10 Curry leaves
  • A pinch of Turmeric


  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Add in chopped onion, ginger, garlic and green chili and cook for some time.
  2. Once onion is cooked well add tomato, coriander and mint to this. Mix well and cook.
  3. To this add turmeric powder, garam masala powder grind together cinnamon, cardamom, fennel and clove to make garam masala) and salt mix well.
  4. Let them cook for 5 minutes or till the tomatoes well cooked and oil separates.
  5. Now add half-cooked ponni rice and mix well.
  6. Heat ghee or butter in another pan add curry leaves, add this to the rice.
  7. Cover rice using a lid, turn the heat off.
  8. Mix well and serve with raita.



  • 1 cup yoghurt
  • 1 Carrot Grated
  • 1 tbsp. Coriander Leaves Chopped
  • Salt to taste


  1. Mix yoghurt, carrot, coriander and salt to taste well
